If you are a steamboat person, this is definitely one of the place you must visit. Well, this is my first time visiting this restaurant in Singapore recommended by my sister and of course, one of the friend highly loves this place as well.

From research, there are a few branches of this restaurant in Singapore, the one which we went to is 313 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238895, inside the building of @313 Somerset. To my surprise, even though the building was a shopping complex and closed at night time – this restaurant is fully awake until 6.30 in the morning. By the time that we reached there was slightly over midnight and the whole place was packed with people enjoying their “steamboat” supper.


Busy Night At Hai Di Lao

I would like to emphasize a bit about the tea they serve, the customers can pick one of the two choices of free flow, one is sort of like chrysanthemum tea and the other one is the choice of the house brew tea. Both are really goods and refreshing combo to steamboat. Well, it was time to quench the thirst after a long day.

When we talked about steam boat, there was two keys main factors – one of them is the base of the soup and the other will be the freshness of the ingredients. To me, this place fulfilled both the criteria.

Many choices of soup base to choose from. For us, tonight, we chose the tomatoes soup and the mushroom soup base. Love the tomatoes soup base especially, with a bit of the sweetness and sourness from the tomatoes it is really appetizing. The aromatic from the tomatoes were so satisfying.

This is the last ingredient for the night – fried bean curds. And it is the number one among all. Crispy and tender and blended well with the soup base.

Prior to the following, I would like to emphasize how well the fried bean curds blended in with the soup. This is one of the reason why it is so good, because original the fried bean curds are dry but when it dip into the soup base. Especially when the soup was so tasty, it absorbed all the aroma and tastiness of the soup base.
